Looking Up at the Stars (WIP Sketch)

Tried something different with perspective here. And that's a firefly close to the camera and not a giant horrifying bug on the ground. Also Fluttershy and the whole blanket and everything probably need to be decreased in size just a bit to match the trees and stuff (and probably some fisheye distortion on the corners of the blanket, but whatever). I started drawing the center of the sketch before I decided to do the weird fisheye lens thing. I'll fix that in Ps later some day, maybe.

Also I tried drawing slightly more realistic wings than usual. Turns out wings are really hard to draw. I always have trouble with them just drawing them in show style, so drawing them like like this was a challenge. I probably drew and erased the wings 20 times... and they're still kinda weird looking. Also it might actually be extremely uncomfortable to be lying on your back with your wings open (if you have wings)... I really have no idea, since i do not have wings. I mean, you wouldn't be able to fold them back up all the way, at least not easily. So that's why her right wing (left as seen from above) is sort of half open, I figured if you opened your wings while lying on your back, you'd have to sort of raise your shoulders/arch your back off the ground, and then they would just be kind of stuck there once you put your full weight back down. I dunno, I guess you could sort of roll one way, open/close that wing, and then roll the other way to open or close the other wing...

Anyways, I wish I would have drawn this much larger (make Fluttershy take up the majority of the page) since I was losing a lot of detail, especially around Angel. If/when I scan and color this, I'll have to add in some detail on the computer). And as a final note, I realized after I'd copied this to my computer that once again my drawing is the result of insomnia, and it keeps with my theme of pretty much everything I draw either being at night or having someone sleeping or lying down.
